Wendy and Aaron live in Arizona, but will be getting married this fall at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California. They recently came out for a visit when I shot their engagement portraits at Venice Beach, CA. We had an awesome time exploring and highlighting the uniqueness that Venice offers. I have a lot of good words for this shoot, but one word sums it up pretty well: COLOR.

Here’s more of Morgan and Brett’s engagement portrait session that our Facebook fans got a little sneak preview of right after the shoot. Morgan and Brett live in Idaho, but will be getting married next month in Malibu, at the beach and the beautiful wedding venue, Saddlerock Ranch. So, on their last visit to California, we planned to do these Santa Monica engagement portraits.

I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with Morgan and Brett. They’re both awesome, kind people, and definitely make a great match! I had a blast spending the afternoon chasing them around Santa Monica with my camera.

Jenelee and Ryan asked us to photograph their engagement portraits around downtown Los Angeles, including the amazing architecture at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, which is a work of art in its own right. The modern style of the building really suits one of my favorite aspects of art and photography – design. The urban photography was a great fit for Jenelee and Ryan’s style and personalities. We had a blast together.

Since our YouTube page had been sitting around doing nothing for a couple of years, we decided to completely start over and update our page with a bunch of fun, new slideshows. There are a lot of Engagement Sessions on there as well as some Senior Portrait shoots. We also have some Family Portraits and a few Wedding slideshows (with much more to come!). I love it when a couple has a fun idea and we’re able to help them bring it to life through our photography. Renee and Jonathan love photography (okay, mostly Renee) and they wanted to stage a shoot that incorporated airplanes, Jonathan’s grandfather’s dog tags and a retro feel. And, you have to love Renee’s good sense to throw on the red belt and heels!

In honor of Laura + Jeremy’s upcoming wedding we thought it would be fun to share their awesome engagement session at The Getty Center. I was lucky enough to join Adam on this shoot and had such a blast getting to know Laura and Jeremy as well as getting some beautiful images. Here are some of our favorites!

Lindsay and Ryan are one of the nicest, most genuine couples I’ve ever met. I had so much fun with their engagement portraits and wedding photography. The best part has been getting to know them and becoming friends. The shoot is from a while back, but we never blogged it and I really wanted to share the amazing images! The last image in the set actually won an award at a huge international print competition.

Wow! It has been awhile since we have had a blog post! So we are going to try to catch up on all the weddings and engagement sessions from this past year that we haven’t had the time to post yet. There is A LOT of amazing stuff we still want to share.

So, we are getting started with an engagement session that Adam shot in Old Sacramento this past April. Kristin and Brad were married in June and really wanted to get some portraits before that (check out their wedding photography). Kristin choose a great location in Old Sacramento. There were so many interesting places to shoot. I really loved this engagement session. Hope you enjoy it too!

When I got the call from my Agoura High School classmate, Tim, asking if I’d photograph his surprise proposal to Andrea (also a high school classmate), I knew I wanted to help. I had a wedding in Irvine the day that Tim wanted to propose, but we HAD to make this work, and we did. Tim set it up like he had a breakfast work meeting that he wanted Andrea to come along on since it was at the gorgeous Paradise Cove in Malibu. He did a brilliant job planning and staging to whole thing so it was a complete surprise. I got to play the role of private investigator, trying to go unnoticed the whole time, hiding behind palm trees, pretending to photograph scenery. It was pretty hilarious, and I’m still amazed we pulled it off! This was the beginning of a very special journey I was blessed to be a part of from proposal, to engagement portraits, to wedding photography. Thank you, Andrea and Tim, for making me a part of this amazing chapter of your lives.

After Tim’s proposal to Andrea at Paradise Cove in Malibu, we decided to stay inAgoura Hills for their engagement portrait session, starting out at the barn where Andrea’s horse is stabled. What an awesome barn! I loved the details there and couldn’t help but shoot some of the environment. It’s always great to incorporate a couples’ passions and interests into their shoot. We also shot around Old Agoura’s hills and oak trees, which, when you grew up in Agoura, just feels so right. Finally, we finished things out at Paramount Ranch, which was just gorgeous.
