Westlake Village Inn Wedding Album

Aimee and Derick’s Westlake Village Inn wedding photo album is absolutely stunning! The cover design is simple: Black leather, one photograph and one line of text – Yet, it has a bold, modern aesthetic that’s really striking. Their album is a great example of balancing the beautiful details, moments and people to really tell the story of the wedding day. For their 12×12 Digital Layout Album, we used a new design style to feature many photographs as large prints; Maybe we should call this style “Big and Beautiful”? Have a look:

Westlake Village Wedding Photography Album

Just like every other time a client album is ready for delivery, I found it very hard to part with this one! I wanted to keep it as a sample. Alas, it’s not mine to keep. So, we’re showing you a video of Kelsey and Corey’s gorgeous Hand Crafted Elegant Album instead. This album was purchased for the bride, as a surprise gift, from her sister who lives out of state. How cool is that?? What a gift!
 

The cover was a really nice combination of Endive Japanese Book Cloth and an Ivory leatherette with modern, silver lettering and page guilding.

The mat pages were a subtle combination of white mat above an ivory liner, which gives the photographs a beautifully soft separation from the page. My wife and I were married at this exact same spot (how stunning is that view, by the way?) just about eight years ago!

Embrace Life associate photographer, Steve, did an incredible job capturing Kelsey and Corey’s lakeside wedding at Lake Sherwood. Everyone has been raving about the photographs and how “invisible” Steve was on the wedding day. Like a photography ninja! =)

Westlake Village Family Portraits

My friend Dr. Norm Reddick, amazing sculptor and cosmetic dentist, asked me to do this multi-generational family portrait shoot at his home in Westlake Village, CA when everyone was home visiting for Easter.

I absolutely love this first shot of his wife and their daughters.

Colleen Westlake Senior Portraits

Here is the last of our series of four Senior Portrait Sessions! Adam shot Colleen’s sister’s senior portrait a few years ago, so he was excited when he got the opportunity to shoot Colleen’s as well. This was a beautiful shoot! They went to the Westlake Village Inn to start, which has amazing gardens. They were able to get a huge variety of great portraits. And, Colleen is such a natural – she looks like a model. They ended the Senior Portrait Session at Leo Carrillo Beach in Malibu and got some really amazing portraits there too. And, Colleen wasn’t afraid to get her feet wet (literally) even though the water must have been a little chilly.

Hollie Moorpark Senior Portraits

This is Amber again. This next Senior Portrait Session is very special to me because it is my sister’s senior portraits. This was extra special because I was able to tag along on the shoot as well. We had so much fun going around different places in Moorpark and Westlake and getting some really beautiful shots. There was even a fire that day and you can see the smoke in the background of some of the portraits, which helped the sky just look amazing. It is hard to believe that my sister is going to be graduating from high school this year. But, I am so excited she was able to get some gorgeous senior portraits to always remember her senior year by.

Andrea + Tim, Part 3: Wedding

After the surprise proposal, and engagement portrait session, came Andrea and Tim’s amazing wedding at Wood Ranch Golf Club in Simi Valley. Andrea even worked horses into the wedding! I think if Tim rode up to Andrea on horseback for the surprise proposal, this whole trifecta would have been even more complete!

D + M Westlake Portrait

Adam had the opportunity to shoot in Westlake Village on a perfect California day with two wonderful kids. Everyone had such a great time and when it was time to go the little girl didn’t want to be done. So, we took some extra portraits at the end that would never have happened if it weren’t for the enthusiasm of an awesome 2 year old. What a great shoot!
