Happy New Year! 2011 was an incredible year for Embrace Life Photography. We had the honor of meeting lots of amazing people, shooting many beautiful occasions, and creating some spectacular photographs along the way. Since we struggled to keep up with sharing everything we’ve done this year, we decided to share our favorite photograph from each 2011 wedding, proposal, and couples’ portrait shoot in one big blog post — with a fun contest attached!

We feel so blessed to have met and worked with so many awesome couples in 2011, that we decided to do something special for them to ring in 2012. We’ve set up a voting contest on our Facebook Page. “Like” Embrace Life on Facebook in order to vote for your favorite photograph(s) of 2011.

Our client in the winning photo will win a 16×20 canvas print of that image! Plus, one random voter will be awarded with a One Hour Location Shoot at Leo Carrillo State Beach in Malibu, CA and one 8×10 print! All you have to do is vote!

Check out our favorite photographs from 2011 (below). Then, head over to our Facebook page by clicking here and vote for your favorite photograph(s). Voting closes on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 10pm, so make sure to vote before then.

Back in April I was asked by Abby and Jay to create portraits of the two of them in Topanga State Park, which is basically their back yard. They love where they live and thought it would be great to capture this time in their lives together at a place where they often walk and enjoy time together. Who can blame them? What a beautiful place!

Wins Six Accolades of Excellence in the
2011 Awards of Excellence 16×20 Print Competition
 

Adam George of Embrace Life Photography, Los Angeles Wedding Photographers, has received special honors in the WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS INTERNATIONAL (WPPI) 2011 Awards of Excellence 16X20 Print Competition. Designed to recognize outstanding photographers, the judging was held in Las Vegas, NV on February 19 and 20, 2011.

“Palm Springs Wedding” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Bride and Groom Together category. “Glendale Wedding” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Bride or Groom Alone category. “Love Birds” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Engagement category. “Malibu Wedding” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Wedding Photojournalism category. “Malibu Family Portrait” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Group category. “Social Control” received an Accolade of Excellence in the Advertising / Fashion category.

George competed against an international field of photographers to win such honors.

The Awards of Excellence 16×20 Print Competition awards are presented each year at the largest trade show, educational platform and convention in the United States for professional photographers. The 2011 competition included 2171 prints in 18 different categories submitted by photographers from all over the world.

Santa Barbara Family Portraits

I was so excited when my friends Pat and Elizabeth asked me to create portraits of their baby girl and the three of them together.

Pat and I were roommates in college at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara and I photographed Pat and Elizabeth’s beautiful wedding in Monterey.

It’s been so cool to be a part of these major milestones in their lives.

Westlake Village Family Portraits

My friend Dr. Norm Reddick, amazing sculptor and cosmetic dentist, asked me to do this multi-generational family portrait shoot at his home in Westlake Village, CA when everyone was home visiting for Easter.

I absolutely love this first shot of his wife and their daughters.
