I’ve been attending the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International conference in Las Vegas, NV almost every year since 2003. During that time, I’ve met and learned from some amazing photographers, and always enjoy seeing old friends. One major draw is the enormous trade show where I can see the latest offerings by the best labs, album companies and camera manufacturers in the world. However, the best part has to be seeing the incredible depth of talent represented in the WPPI 16×20 Annual Print Competition. Starting in 2009, I’ve entered my work every other year because the challenge of receiving judges’ scores high enough to earn a ribbon is one I really enjoy. Each time, I’ve walked away with multiple ribbons and a better understanding of what works well and what doesn’t. My hope is that this exercise benefits each one of my wedding, portrait and commercial clients as my skill and experience grows. This year, I was excited to earn three ribbons on photographs that I absolutely love.

The 2013 winning photographs can be seen below, and here are the 2011 & 2009 winners.
