Hawaii Wedding Photography Preview

We just got back from photographing Darcy and Kent’s beautiful wedding at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort in Ko’Olina, Hawaii. It was such a blessing to be in paradise for their special day. Here’s a sneak peek from their wedding:

We also spent some time as a family enjoying a few days off in Kauai and Oahu. On our last night in Kauai we were evacuated due to the earthquake in Japan and the resulting tsunami threat. We spent that night in our rented Dodge Charger up on high ground instead of the amazing oceanfront condo we were staying in. Other than a lack of sleep, it was uneventful, thankfully! Here we are on a catamaran sailing the Na Pali Coast in Kauai:

Here’s a photograph I took of Waimea Canyon one morning:

The morning after the evacuation we bumped into our couple from the previous weekend while they were honeymooning in Kauai! Katie and Joe were married in Palm Springs two days before we left for Kauai. It was so fun seeing and sharing breakfast with them thousands of miles away after a rough night of being evacuated. Here’s a sneak peek from their desert wedding:

It’s always hard to leave Hawaii, but we’re happy to be home and looking forward to catching up on everything. Remember to keep sending the people of Japan good thoughts and prayers for the hard times they’re going through.

If you’re planning a destination wedding, we have experience photographing destination weddings both around the United States and internationally and would love to speak with you about your special plans.

  1. Gorgeous! (as always). I especially love the b/w landscape with the awesome clouds…looks like a great trip (minus the whole tsunami thing)
